Mumbai Terror
Past 3 days has been horrific, not only for me but for the entire nation. Our commandos faught with terrorists for 60 hours to save Mumbai. In the worst ever terror attack in India 195 people were killed, including 18 foreigners and 15 police personnel and around 300 were injured. Among those killed were actor Ashish Choudhary’s sister Monica and brother-in-law who had gone to The Oberoi Trident on Wednesday night for a dinner at Tiffin with some friends. My heart goes out to all those who became the target of this attack. While the common man are voicing their anger, Many bollywood personalities have also expressed their anguish either on their blogs or on the television.
“My pain has been the sight and plight of my innocent and vulnerable and completely insecure countrymen, facing the wrath of this terror attack. And my anger has been at the ineptitude of the authorities that have been ordained to look after us.” Big B wrote in his blog. And when our brave officers finished the job of flushing out the terrorist, he wrote “I join the hundreds of my city people gathered in and around the NSG and Army and Navy commandos, applauding their effort, as they move away from the scene of action. Gentleman you have been our true heroes. This was not your city; it was a part of your land, your country. You came in here as determined Indians and gave us the privilege today of being proud nationals.”
“Have been watching television since yesterday and to see various locations in Mumbai turned into a war zone is shocking and heart breaking to say the least.” Aamir wrote. Saluting the officers who were martyred he added “My heartfelt condolences to the family of the brave officers of the Mumbai Police who lost their lives leading from the front to take on these terrorists. Especially Hemant Karkare of the ATS who in the recent past was being targeted by various political parties for the work that he was doing.”
Actors like Arjun Rampal and Rahul Bose have appeared on television to speak of their disbelief and pain over the terror attacks. Arjun Rampal has stated that the government ought to “provide better security and have better preparedness” for such attacks. Shabana Azmi has condemned the attacks as “a diabolic war” and calls for an “iron hand” approach to strike down terrorism. Shilpa Shetty has described the attacks as “an open war against humanity”.
